University Publishing Committee
The University publishing processes are coordinated by the University Publishing Committee. The Committee ensures transparent, efficient, and high quality organization of publishing activities, adopts decisions regarding print runs, pricing, and access, and provides recommendations for the improvement of publishing processes.
Functions
The University Publishing Committee:
• provides recommendations on the organization and improvement of University publishing processes
• approves the print run of publications
• determines publication pricing and reviews it when necessary
• decides on price reductions of publications
• decides on the inclusion of non periodical publications in the University open access repository
• performs other functions established by the University internal legal acts
Composition
The Publishing Committee consists of:
• vice deans for research of academic units
• the Head of the Research and Innovation Centre
• Research and Innovation Centre staff responsible for publishing
• the Head of the Finance Office
• the accountant responsible for asset accounting
• a representative of the Library
The composition of the University Publishing Committee is approved by the Rector by order.
Decision Making
Decisions of the Committee are adopted by a simple majority vote. Meetings are recorded in minutes, and the minutes are stored in the University electronic document management system.
Legal Framework
The activities of the Publishing Committee are regulated by the Resolution on the Approval of the Research Activity Regulations of Mykolas Romeris University, adopted by the Senate on 27 January 2022, Resolution No. 1SN 1.
